Abstract

An optical signal generator (100) comprises an LD (110), an SOA (120), an EA type modulator (130), and a power control unit (160). The LD (110) generates light having a variable wavelength. The SOA (120) amplifies the light generated by the LD (110). The EA type modulator (130) modulates the light amplified by the SOA (120). The power control unit (160) controls the gain of the SOA (120) so that the photo current of the light generated in the EA type modulator (130) is set to be constant.
