Abstract

　ホストコンピュータと通信可能に接続され、記憶媒体にブロック単位でデータを読み書きするストレージシステムのデータ制御装置は、ホストと通信するホストＩ／Ｆと、ホストからのデータを一時記憶するメモリと、ホストからのライトコマンドまたはリードコマンドの範囲の先頭ブロックデータの前方に余分なデータが有り、および／または前記範囲の最終ブロックデータの後方に余分なデータが有るとき、その余分なデータを端数データと呼び、端数データを記憶する端数バッファと、ホストから受けた第１サイズのデータにチェックコードを付加した第２サイズのデータを、物理構成が第１サイズの記憶媒体との間で書込みおよび読込みするよう制御するディスク制御部と、記憶媒体との間でデータを書込みおよび読込み可能なディスクＩ／Ｆとを備える。
