Abstract

A mobile communication system measures a current position of a mobile station using a global positioning system and the like, and when the current position is separated from the position which the mobile station registered for the last time by a specified distance D, the mobile station performs position registration once again. When calling the mobile station, a network uses a range within the distance D in radius centering on the position which the mobile station registered for the last time as a calling area. The network calls the mobile station using all the base stations in a part or whole of a base station area contained within the calling area. It is possible to make a radius of the calling area slightly greater than the distance D.
