Description

Description FLOOR HINGE
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a floor hinge coupled and mounted to one side of a bottom where a door is opened or closed, and more particularly, to a floor hinge, which keeps constant a speed of closing the door constant when the door is being closed, and prevents the hinge from being damaged to make preparation against a failure of an oil pressure due to an excessive pressure applied toward a direction of closing the door. Background Art
[2] A door that can be closed or opened in one direction or both directions is generally mounted at an entrance of a building, which has a hinge assembly that is opened by an external force and then turns back to its originally closed position by means of its elastic force.
[3] Hinge assemblies in the form of hinge are typically and widely are laid on a central portion of the door, or are laid in the floor below the door. The hinge assembly laid in the floor is referred to as a floor hinge.
[4] Such a floor hinge has a hinge axis that is coupled to a lower end of the door and turns within a longitudinal casing. A piston that advances or retreats depending on the turning of the hinge axis is coupled to a piston rod and is disposed long along one direction, and the piston rod has a mount-type return spring fit thereto.
[5] However, according to the conventional floor hinge, the door cannot be slowly opened or closed when an excessive force is applied to the door.
[6] As a result, the door often tends to be rapidly closed, which thus brings damage to an object or a part of human body stuck between the door and the doorframe. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[7] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a floor hinge, which is coupled and mounted to one side of a bottom where a door is opened or closed, keeps a speed of closing the door constant when the door is being closed, and prevents the hinge from being damaged to make preparation against a failure of an oil pressure due to an excessive pressure applied toward a direction of closing the door. Technical Solution
[8] In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a floor hinge, which includes: a rectangular- shaped main body 10 having a space portion; a cylinder 14 disposed diagonally with a predetermined length at one corner of the main body 10 and having a first spring 12 inside; an anti-deviation cover 16 for preventing the first spring 12 of the cylinder 14 from being deviated; a weight-shaped turning unit 20 diagonally disposed to be rotatable at the other corner of the main body 10 by means of a hinge axis 18, one end of the turning unit being in surface contact with the first spring 12 of the cylinder 14; a second spring 22 mounted within the turning unit 20; a roller guide 24 mounted within the second spring 22 for opening or closing a door; an oil guide 26 coupled with the second spring 22 for aiding the roller guide 24 to slowly turn when the door is being closed; and an arc-shaped turning guide 28 disposed along an inner circumferential surface of the main body and aiding the turning unit to turn when the turning unit turns.
Advantageous Effects
[9] According to the present invention as described above, a speed of closing a door can be kept slowly to prevent an object or a part of a human body from being stuck between the door and the doorframe. In addition, the hinge can be prevented from being damaged to make preparation against a failure of an oil pressure due to an excessive pressure applied toward a direction of closing the door.
[10] In addition, when a cylinder acts to push the oil by aid of a weight-shaped turning unit while the door is closed, a cross-sectional area of a path where the oil flows can be increased or decreased so that a turning speed of a hinge axis can be adjusted. Brief Description of the Drawings
[11] FIG. 1 illustrates a floor hinge according to the present invention.
[12] FIG. 2 is a plan diagram illustrating essential parts of a floor hinge according to the present invention.
[13] FIG. 3 is a side diagram illustrating essential parts of a floor hinge according to the present invention.
[14] FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating operations of essential parts of a floor hinge according to the present invention.
[15] FIG. 5 illustrates a cross-sectional diagram (b) of an excessive-pressure resistant oil guide mounted at a position B-B of a floor hinge B according to the present invention. Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[16] Hereinafter, a floor hinge according to preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to accompanying drawings.
[17] FIG. 1 illustrates a floor hinge according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a plan diagram illustrating essential parts of a floor hinge according to the present invention, FIG. 3 is a side diagram illustrating essential parts of a floor hinge according to the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating operations of essential parts of a floor hinge according to the present invention.
[18] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the floor hinge according to the present invention includes: a rectangular-shaped main body 10 having a space portion; a cylinder 14 disposed diagonally with a predetermined length at one corner of the main body 10 and having a first spring 12 inside; an anti-deviation cover 16 for preventing the first spring 12 of the cylinder 14 from being deviated; a weight-shaped turning unit 20 diagonally disposed to be rotatable at the other corner of the main body 10 by means of a hinge axis 18, one end of the turning unit being in surface contact with the first spring 12 of the cylinder 14; a second spring 22 mounted within the turning unit 20; a roller guide 24 mounted within the second spring 22 for opening or closing a door and a roller 36 disposed between the roller guide 24 and the main body 10; an oil guide 26 coupled with the second spring 22 for aiding the roller guide 24 to slowly turn when the door is being closed; and an arc-shaped turning guide 28 disposed along an inner circumferential surface of the main body and converting linear motion to rotary motion to aid the turning unit to turn when the turning unit turns. Particularly, the cylinder 14 has the first spring 12 inside, and one end of the weight-shaped turning unit 20 is in surface contact with the first spring 12 of the cylinder 14.
[19] The roller guide 24 disposed within the second spring 22 compresses the second spring when the door is being opened and uses an elastic energy of the compressed second spring to help the door closed when the door is being closed.
[20] In addition, the oil guide 26 is coupled to the second spring 22, and allows the roller guide 24 to turn while the oil is pushed by the cylinder 14 operating by means of the turning unit 20 when the door is being closed.
[21] A speed adjustment valve 34 for adjusting a speed of the door being closed is preferably disposed on the oil guide 26 (see FIG. 5).
[22] A permanent magnet 13 for collecting iron powders resulting from friction is disposed at a position where the oil flows within the cylinder 14.
[23] Reference numerals 30 and 32 denote bearings, 33 sealing, and 38 pin.
[24] Operations of the floor hinge configured as described above will now be described with reference to FIG. 4.
[25] The floor hinge is first mounted at a side of a bottom where the door is opened or closed, and then a hinge axis 18 of the floor hinge is coupled to a lower surface of one side of the door.
[26] In this case, when the door is opened, the hinge axis 18 of the floor hinge turns.
[27] As the hinge axis 18 turns, the roller 36 assembled with the weight-shaped turning unit 20 disposed diagonally at the other corner of the main body 10 rolls along an inner circumferential surface of the arc-shaped turning guide 28.
[28] At this time, the cylinder 14 disposed diagonally with a predetermined length at one corner of the main body 10 is in contact with the turning unit 20 by means of a restitution force of the a first spring 12. In addition, when the door is being closed, the cylinder in contact with the turning unit 20 is pushed back by the turning unit 20 of the hinge axis to push the oil within the cylinder 14, for which the speed adjustment vale for adjusting an amount of oil flow is employed to adjust the turning speed of the hinge axis 18. When a user applies an excessive force to the door, it is preferable for the oil guide 26 to further have an excessive-pressure resistant oil guide 27 when an excessive amount of oil flow temporarily occurs. Particularly, when an excessive amount of oil flow occurs as shown in FIG. 5, the preferred excessive-pressure resistant oil guide of the present invention allows the ball valve 42 disposed within the excessive-pressure resistant oil guide 27 to compress the spring 44 up to a first oil distribution tube 46 so that the excessive amount of oil flow are distributed to the first oil distribution tube 46 coupled within the cylinder and a second oil distribution tube 48 coupled behind the cylinder, thereby preventing the hinge from being damaged.
[29] In the meantime, a permanent magnet 13 for collecting iron powders resulting from friction is disposed at a position where the oil flows within the cylinder 14.
