Abstract
An inverter (5) for changing driving frequency of an AC motor and an arithmetic unit (26) for computing saved energy when the inverter is operated are used. The arithmetic unit (26) calculates inverter input power to the inverter (5) by converting it into the one in a commercial frequency based on power consumption during the operation of the inverter (5) and the frequency, calculates motor input power to the AC motor by multiplying the inverter input power by efficiency of the inverter, calculates reference power before the inverter is adopted by multiplying the motor input power by a shaft power reduction ratio for machine control corresponding to the frequency, and obtains saved electric power consumption by subtracting the power consumption during the drive from the reference power.
