Abstract

Disclosed is a process for producing a hydrocarbon oil. In the process, as a first step, a raw oil containing an oxygenated hydrocarbon compound is subjected to the hydrogenation/deoxygenation and hydrogenation/isomerization in the presence of hydrogen and a first hydrogenation catalyst in a first reaction zone so that the oxygen removal rate becomes 5 to 80 mass%, thereby producing a first oil. Subsequently, the first oil produced in the first step is subjected to the hydrogenation/deoxygenation in the presence of hydrogen and a second hydrogenation catalyst in a second reaction zone which is arranged in series with the first reaction zone, thereby producing a second oil containing the desired hydrocarbon oil.
