Description

Organised exhibition space and exhibitor for said exhibition space
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to an organised exhibition space.
Specifically, the invention relates to an organised exhibition space which can be set up preferably in a stand at a trade fair and/or in a shop. The skilled person however will recognise that the exhibition space of the present invention may also be set up in other environments, as for example at an exposition or in any other environment for the presentation and/or sale of articles of various different types.
The invention also relates to an exhibitor for said exhibition space.
Throughout the present description and in the subsequent claims, the expression "organised exhibition space" is used to indicate a confined area for the exhibition of articles, wherein ' the design and the layout of the exhibition area are studied with particular care in order to enhance the displayed articles as much as possible, at the same time creating a pleasing and comforting environment that stimulates visitors and/or clients to , purchase the displayed articles.
Today in marketing sectors it is common to design exhibition spaces with criterion and care, with p'articular attention being paid to the design and layout of said spaces and to the arrangement of the displayed articles. Consider for example the stands at trade fair pavilions, or in shops, of some of the big names in fashion and furnishings fields.
The design criteria of the exhibition spaces typically address the need to maximise the number of articles displayed, at least for each type of article, and the visibility of said articles, all of this in an environment that is pleasing and comfortable for the visitors and/or clients.
The Applicant has observed that an exhibition space that is particularly effective in the presentation of articles and products, as well as addressing the aforementioned requirement, should stimulate the curiosity of visitors and/or clients in such a way as to push them to go into the exhibition space itself, following a path that brings them to view all the articles displayed and/or any graphic and visual representation of the articles displayed and any other articles.
In this regard, the Applicant has thought that it is possible to attain the objects discussed above by suitably positioning an exhibitor body having a particularly characterising shape in the exhibition space and providing around the exhibitor body further elements to present the displayed articles.
Specifically, the Applicant has found that by using an exhibitor body having a shape that is substantially toroidal (such a shape reminding a tyre for vehicle wheels) and by positioning said exhibitor body in the exhibition space in such a way that it is supported in an elevated position off the floor and it is surrounded by a plurality of presentation elements for presenting the displayed articles, the client or visitor to the exhibition space is stimulated to go into the exhibition space in order to get closer to the exhibitor body, thus viewing the articles present or reproduced in the presentation elements that surround the exhibitor body and the articles present in the exhibitor body itself. This stimulus is caused, in addition that by the characterising shape of the exhibitor body, also by the fact that, since the exhibitor body is supported in a position which is elevated off the floor, the client or visitor who is at the entrance to the exhibition space sees the feet of other clients/visitors who are inside the exhibition space behind the exhibitor body and is thus pushed to go into the exhibition space in order to go and see what is beyond the exhibitor body.
Throughout the present description and in the subsequent claims, the expression ^presentation elements" is used to indicate any element for viewing, exhibiting, representing, illustrating or describing an article.
The present invention therefore relates, in a first aspect thereof," to an organised exhibition space, comprising:
- at least two side walls; an exhibition area defined between said at least two side walls; at least one entrance to said exhibition area; - at least one exhibitor positioned in said exhibition area and comprising an exhibitor body and at least one support element adapted to support said exhibitor body in an elevated position off the floor; wherein said exhibitor body has a substantially toroidal shape interrupted at the an opening for accessing the interior of said exhibitor body and extends around a substantially vertical axis; and wherein at least one of said at least two side walls comprises a plurality of presentation elements.
Advantageously, the substantially toroidal shape of the exhibitor body, reminding a tyre for vehicle wheels, catches the attention of the client/visitor, who is therefore pushed to go into the exhibition space in order to get closer to the exhibitor. In addition, the presen.ce of other clients beyond the exhibitor, who can be seen due to the fact that their feet are visible thanks to the fact that the exhibitor is in a position that is elevated off the floor, stimulates the curiosity of the client/visitor, who is therefore pushed to go further into the exhibition space in order to go beyond the exhibitor. In this way, the client passes through the exhibition space, viewing the - A -
articles present or reproduced in the presentation elements that surround the exhibitor and the articles present in the exhibitor itself.
The elevated position of the exhibitor body also enables visitors to the exhibition space to get closer to the exhibitor with maximum freedom of movement and positioning, as they feet can even be placed under the exhibitor body.
This allows the capacity to accommodate visitors in the exhibition space to be increased for a same volume, this being a particularly advantageous condition when the exhibition space is particularly crowded.
In a second aspect thereof, the present invention relates to an exhibitor comprising: an exhibitor body having a substantially toroidal shape interrupted at an opening for accessing the interior of said exhibitor body and extended around a substantially vertical axis; at least one support element adapted to support said exhibitor body in an elevated position off the floor.
Advantageously, such an exhibitor can be used in the exhibition space of the present invention discussed above and thus presents the advantageous features illustrated above .
The present invention, in at least one of the above- mentioned aspects, can present at least one of the following preferred features.
Preferably, at least some of the above-mentioned presentation elements comprise display devices. More preferably, the above-mentioned display devices comprise flat plasma or liquid crystal (LCD) screens. Such screens are preferably intended to project images correlated with the articles present in said organised exhibition space.
Preferably, at least some of said presentation elements comprise display windows adapted to contain articles, preferably articles of clothing and footwear, and/or prints, photographs or graphical representations of the above-mentioned articles.
I
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, some presentation elements comprise display devices and other presentation elements comprise display windows.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, all the presentation elements identified above comprise frames. Preferably, said frames remind (due to their colour or their shape or to the motif represented thereon) an aesthetic motif which is present on the external surface of the exhibitor body. Preferably, this motif reminds a displayed article.
Preferably, the above-mentioned presentation elements are on a first surface of at least one of said at least two side walls facing towards the interior of said exhibition area.
In an embodiment of the present invention, at least some of said presentation elements are also on a second surface of at least one of said at least two side walls, facing towards the outside of said exhibition area.
Preferably, a plurality of figurative elements associated with said second surface is provided. Such figurative elements are preferably correlated to trademarks, products, slogans,, and/or figures relating to the exhibited articles.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the above- mentioned at least two side walls are adjacent and consecutive.
In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the above-mentioned at least two side walls are parallel. '
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the exhibition space is defined by four side walls. Preferably, in this case, two side walls opposite to each
1 other comprise the LCD or plasma screens, one side wall comprises the above-mentioned entrance and the opposite wall comprises display windows. Obviously, alternative embodiments that comprise screens alone, or display windows alone, and different arrangements of such presentation elements on the side walls of the exhibition space can be provided.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the exhibition space comprises a passage area between each of the" above- mentioned walls and the exhibitor, said passage area having a prefixed width that is substantially egual to the external diameter of the exhibitor body.
In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the above-mentioned width is larger than the above-mentioned external diameter.
In a further alternative embodiment of the present invention, the ratio between the above-mentioned width and the above-mentioned external diameter is less than about 1/3.
In a further alternative embodiment of the present invention, the ratio between the above-mentioned width and the above-mentioned external diameter is comprised between about 1 and about 1/3. t In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the above-mentioned width is equal to about half of said external diameter.

Further seating elements 120 and rest/support elements 121 are provided in the exhibition area 2 between the entrance door 31 and the right-hand side wall 6. i
In the exhibition area 2, in a substantially central position thereof, an exhibitor 100 ' is ■ placed. Said exhibitor comprises an exhibitor body* 101 having a substantially toroidal shape interrupted at an opening 102 for accessing the interior of the exhibitor and extended around a substantially vertical axis X-X. ,
Specifically, the exhibitor body 101 reminds the shape of a tyre for vehicle wheels, said tyre being interrupted at the entrance opening 102 to the interior thereof. The exhibitor body 101 is positioned in such a way that the entrance opening 102 to the interior thereof is facing towards the back wall 4 of the exhibition space, i.e. it is on the opposite side to the entrance door 31 to the organised exhibition space 1, with respect to the exhibitor 100. In this way the client/visitor, in order to see the ' articles present inside the exhibitor 100, must go into the organised exhibition space 1 up to the bottom end thereof, thus viewing in the meantime the articles exhibited in the display windows 21b or represented on the plasma or LCD screens 21a arranged on the side walls 5 and 6 of the exhibition space 1. ,
However, an embodiments of the present invention is provided wherein the opening 102 is facing towards the side entrance wall 3 to the organised exhibition space 1.
The exhibitor body 101 has, on the external surface 103 thereof, a motif 103a that reminds' in some way (for example, by means of its colour or its shape) an aesthetic motif reproduced on the frames 35 of the 'screens 21a and of the display windows 21b. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the motif 103a reminds the tread of a tyre and has the same colour of the frames 35.
As shown in figures 2 and 3, the exhibitor body 101 is kept suspended in an elevated position off the floor by three support elements 104 associated with the floor and arranged at 120° from each other. However, the number of support elements 104 and their reciprocal distance can be different from that described and illustrated here. In addition, alternative embodiments of the present invention are provided wherein the exhibitor body 101 is supported from above, i.e. by means of support elements associated (either t directly or by means of scaffoldings or pylons) with the ceiling of the area in which the organised exhibition space 1 is set up. In a further variant embodiment the above- mentioned scaffoldings or pylons can constrain the exhibitor body 101 to the ground while supporting it from above, for example by holding it suspended as a load lifted by a crane.
Between the exhibitor 100 and the left-hand and right-hand side1 walls 5 and 6 respective passage areas 110 for visitors of the exhibition space, are provided. The length L of these passage areas 110 is preferably less than 1/3 of the external diameter D of the exhibitor (body 101. More preferably, the above-mentioned length L is equal to about half of the external diameter D of the exhibitor body 101.
>' The distance from the floor of the exhibitor body 101 is comprised between about 1/2 and about 1/5 of the height of the exhibitor body itself measured in parallel to said axis X-X. Preferably, the distance from the floor is equal to about 5/12 of the height of the exhibitor body 101,
As shown in figures 2 and 3, the exhibitor body 101 is entirely hollow and has at the interior thereof a framework that defines a plurality of spaces for housing the* articles being exhibited.
Specifically, figures 2 and 3 show spaces 111 that comprise clothes rails and spaces 112 that comprise shelving,' on which the articles being exhibited can be placed. In addition, spaces that can be closed by means of sliding panels, and also spaces provided with orientable pivots for supporting the articles being exhibited (typically for displaying footwear) can be provided.
In general, the spaces can be set up in a modular fashion in such a way as to be able to create a plurality of different configurations of spaces in the exhibition volume inside the cavity of the exhibitor body 101.'
The exhibitor body 101 comprises, at said opening 102 for accessing to the interior thereof, a pair of opposing entrance walls 130, oriented in a direction inclined by a prefixed angle α with respect to a radial axis of symmetry Y-Y of the exhibitor body 101. The angle α is preferably comprised between about 20° and about 60°, and more preferably it is comprised between about 25° and about 50°.
In the embodiment of the exhibitor 100 illustrated in figures 2 and 3, the walls 130 comprise 'a, surface in an opaque material, but this surface may be in a transparent material or it may be completely absent, the walls 102 in' this case being open, thus allowing the clients/visitors to see the articles exhibited in the exhibitor body 101 and allowing the operators of the exhibition space 1 to arrange such articles in the spaces 111, 112 of the, exhibitor body 101. ! (
From the above description, it is evident how the organised exhibition space 1 of the present invention is implemented with a criterion that address the need to maximise the number of articles displayed, at least for each type of article, and the visibility of said articles, all of this in an environment that is pleasing and comfortable for the visitors and/or clients.
In addition, the layout and design ] of the Organised exhibition space 1 of the present invention are such that the curiosity of the visitors and/or clients is stimulated, pushing them to go into the organised exhibition space 1 by following a path that brings them to view all the articles displayed on the side walls 3,4,5,6 and in the exhibitor 100.
In fact, the toroidal shape of the exhibitor body 101, reminding a tyre for vehicle wheels, catches the attention of the client/visitor, who is therefore pushed to go into the organised exhibition space 1 in order to get closer to the exhibitor 100. i In addition, the presence of other clients beyond the exhibitor, who can be seen due to the fact that their feet are visible thanks to the fact that the exhibitor body 101 is in a position that is'1 elevated off the floor, stimulates the curiosity of the client/visitor, who is therefore pushed to go further into the organised exhibition space 1, in order to get to beyond the exhibitor 100. In this way, the client passes through the organised exhibition space 1, viewing the articles present or reproduced on the plasma or LCD screens 21a and in the display windows 21b that surround the exhibitor 100 and the articles present in the exhibitor body 101.
The elevated position of the exhibitor 101 also enables visitors to the organised exhibition spa'ce 1 to get closer to the exhibitor with maximum freedom of movement and positioning, as they 'can place their feet also under the exhibitor body 101. This increases the capacity to accommodate visitors in the exhibition space; 1 for the same volume, this being a particularly advantageous condition in the event that the exhibition space is particularly crowded.
