Abstract

An approach is provided for transmission scheduling in a meshed network. One or more nodes of a meshed network compete, over a channel, to obtain one of a plurality of transmission opportunities reserved for providing distributed scheduling of transmissions within the meshed network. An assignment of the transmission opportunity is received based on priority information of the nodes.
