Abstract
The present invention relates generally to the field of plant molecular biology and concerns a method for improving plant growth characteristics. More specifically, the present invention concerns a method for increasing stress resistance comprising increasing the expression of a nucleic acid/gene encoding an auxin UDP-glycosyltransferase in a plant. The present invention also concerns plants having an increased auxin UDP-glycosyltransferase activity, which plants have increased yield and/or increased stress resistance relative to corresponding wild-type plants.
