Abstract

Provided is a signal transmission cable which is thin and highly flexible to be used for transmitting high frequency signals such as a signal exceeding 2GHz. The signal transmission cable is provided with a flat signal conductor (1); flat ground conductors (2, 3) arranged on the both sides of the signal conductor (1) on the same flat surface whereupon the signal conductor (1) is arranged; an electric insulating layers (4, 5), which cover the signal conductor (1) and the ground conductors (2, 3) by sandwiching the signal conductor and the ground conductors from top and bottom, and is composed of an electric insulating thin film; a metal shield layer (15) formed to surround the signal conductor (1), the ground conductors (2, 3) and the electric insulating layers (4, 5) together; and a protection film layer (16) for covering the metal shield layer (15). Thus, increase of transmission loss in the transmission frequency band of high frequency signals is suppressed.
