Abstract

 液晶層(LC)に、第1画素領域(p1)、第2画素領域(p2)、および、第3画素領域(p3)を設ける。第1画素領域(p1)に対向するブラックマトリクス領域(23a)と、第2画素領域(p2)に対向するブラックマトリクス領域(23b)と、第3画素領域(23c)に対向するカラーフィルタ領域(23c)とを有するカラーフィルタ層(23)を設ける。第3画素領域(p3)を駆動しない状態で、第1画素領域(p1)および第2画素領域(p2)を個別の画像データで駆動し、互いに異なる方向に出射光(L1、L2)を得る。これにより、正面から見ても第1の方向への表示用の画像と第2の方向への表示用の画像とが同時に視認されにくい表示パネルを実現する。
