Abstract

The subject of the invention is a device for mounting, such that it can move, a cover (3) on the chassis (1) of a thermal printing mechanism. A press roller (4) is mounted, capable of rotational and translational movement, on the cover (3) via the spindle (6) thereof, and the chassis (1) has a fixed blind housing (10) to accommodate the spindle (6) when the cover (3) is in the closed position. Elastic means (5) apply thrust against the press roller (4) to keep the spindle (6) thereof well inside the housings (10). Cooperation between the opposing means of support (13) that the spindle (6) adopts, against the chassis (1) and against the cover (3), constitute means of keeping the cover (3) locked in the closed position, which means are able to restrain the cover (3) against its moving into its open position unless the spindle (6) has already escaped from the housing (10). The device further comprises a special-purpose unlocking member which, using thrust, causes the spindle to escape from the housing.
