Abstract

A shoe has an insole (4), which includes a middle portion (43) to bear a middle of a traverse arch at an anterior portion of a foot, and inside and outside lateral edges (41, 42) lying on both sides as seen from toe, the lateral edges being made softer than the middle portion (43). Surface contour of the insole (4) across the inside lateral edge (41), middle portion (43) and outside lateral edge (42) when seen from toe may be deformed into upward raised convex in conformity with the shape of sole that bears the weight of a bipedal person wearing the shoes. Thus, the insole of the worn shoe, as getting the surface contour to substantially follow the traverse arch at the anterior portion of the foot, keeps the traverse arch less in collapse, easing any strain of foot, which might otherwise rise from the collapse of the traverse arch.
