Description

REPORT ISSUING METHOD AND SYSTEM
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0001] The present invention relates to a report issuing method and system and, more particularly, to a method and system for issuing a report for medical use. [0002]
In an RIS (Radiology Information System) and an HIS (Hospital Information System), a report for a medical use on a patient is computerized and stored so that it can be utilized by concerned persons via a network. A computerized report includes document information and image information (refer to, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2005-327302). [0003]
At the time of giving a report to a patient, document information is printed on a sheet of paper and image information is burnt on a CD (Compact Disc). Each of the document printing and CD burning is performed by a dedicated apparatus, so that a work of collecting and combining the document and the CD is necessary. Consequently, to issue a report, a medical personnel has to be involved and manpower accompanying the issue is required. Even if a report is prepared in such a manner, there is a case such that the patient does not come to pick it up. In this case, the issued report and the manpower become wasteful. [0004]
An object of the present invention is to realize a wasteless report issuing method and system.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0005]
The invention according to an aspect for achieving the object relates to a medical report issuing method for notifying a patient of a message that a report can be issued, displaying a report on a terminal screen in response to an inquiry from a patient, and issuing the displayed report on a portable medium in accordance with a terminal operation performed by the patient. [0006] The invention according to another aspect for achieving the object relates to a system for issuing a report for medical use, including: notifying means for notifying a patient of a message that a report can be issued; display means for displaying a report on a terminal screen in response to an inquiry from the patient; and issuing means for issuing the displayed report on a portable medium in accordance with a terminal operation performed by the patient. [0007]
Preferably, the notification is performed by a short message service from the viewpoint of simple and reliable notification. Preferably, the inquiry is performed with an ID card from the viewpoint of a simple and reliable inquiry. Preferably, the terminal operation is performed with a touch screen from the viewpoint of simple operation. [0008]
The medium is preferably a paper medium for recording a document and an optical medium for recording an image from the viewpoint of user friendliness. Preferably, the optical medium is a CD from the viewpoint of easy reproduction. Preferably, the CD has a cover on which the name of a patient, report creation date, and report issue date are printed so that the CD can be identified well. It is preferable to store history of the issue to facilitate management. [0009]
In the present invention, at the time of issuing a report for medical use, a message that a report can be issued is notified to a patient, a report is displayed on a terminal screen in response to an inquiry from the patient, and the displayed report is issued on a portable medium in accordance with a terminal operation performed by the patient. Thus, the wasteless report issuing method and system can be realized. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. l is a diagram showing the configuration of a report issuing system as an example of the best mode for carrying out the invention. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a report issuing workflow.
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an example of a display screen.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [0010] A best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described hereinbelow with reference to the drawings. However, the invention is not limited to the best mode for carrying out the invention. FIG. 1 shows a schematic configuration of a report issuing system. The system is an example of the best mode for carrying out the invention. By the configuration of the system, an example of the best mode for carrying out the invention related to the report issuing system is shown. By the operation of the system, an example of the best mode for carrying the invention related to a report issuing method is shown. [001 1 ] As shown in FIG. 1, the system has a terminal device 100. The terminal device 100 has a graphic display 102. The graphic display 102 has a touch screen on its front face. A position on the touch screen touched with a finger or the like of the user is detected. The terminal device 100 also has a card reader 104. The card reader 104 can read an ID card (identification card) of a patient. The ID card is a card on which information for specifying a patient is recorded. [0012]
A report output device 1 10 is connected to the terminal device 100. The report output device 1 10 outputs a report on a portable medium. One of portable media is a paper medium and another one is an optical medium. As the optical medium, for example, a CD (compact disc) or the like is used. The report output device 1 10 has a printer 1 12 for the paper medium and a CD burner 1 14 for the optical medium. [0013]
The terminal device 100 is a terminal device such as an RIS or an HIS and is connected to a network 200. Although a plurality of the terminal devices 100 can exist on the network 200, one representative terminal device 100 is shown. Although a plurality of kinds of terminals having different functions can exist, they are not shown in the diagram. [0014]
A server 300 exists on the network 200. In the server 300, reports generated by medical experts such as doctors are stored as electronic information on the patient unit basis. A report is made of document information and image information. [0015]
A communication apparatus 310 is connected to the server 300. The communication apparatus 310 is a communication apparatus capable of performing a short message service (SMS). When the system enters a state where a report can be issued, a notification of the state is sent to a cellular phone of a patient by the SMS via the communication apparatus
310. The cellular phone number of the patient is registered in advance in the server 300 as one of services for patients. The SMS is a service provided by a telephone company to customers, and a message similar to an e-mail is sent.
[0016]
The report issuing operation of the system will be described. FIG. 2 shows a report issuing workflow. As shown in FIG. 2, in step Sl , a report ready state is notified. The notification of the report ready state is performed to notify the patient of the state where a report can be issued. The notification is sent as the SMS from the server 300 via the communication apparatus 310. The server 300 and the communication apparatus 310 are an example of notifying means of the present invention. [0017]
In step S2, an inquiry for a report is made. An inquiry for a report is made by a patient. A patient knows by the SMS received by his/her cellular phone that a report can be issued, visits a hospital, and makes an inquiry for a report by the terminal device 100. For a report inquiry, an ID card is used. [0018]
When the ID card is read by the card reader 104, the ID of the patient is authorized. A report is downloaded from the server 300 to the terminal device 100, and main items of the report are displayed on the graphic display 102. The graphic display 102 is an example of display means in the invention. [0019]
FIG. 3 shows an example of the display. As shown in FIG. 3, name, a report issue state, sex, age, and other items are displayed in a table form. In a right upper part of the screen, a "Print Report" button and a "Burn to CD" button are displayed. [0020]
In step S3, a report issuing operation is performed. The report issuing operation is performed by the patient. The patient touches the "Print Report" button to instruct issuing of a report in a paper medium, or the "Burn to CD" button to instruct issuing of a report in a CD. [0021]
On the basis of such an operation, in step S4, a report is issued. A report is issued by the report output device 110 under control of the terminal device 100. The report output device 1 10 prints the paper medium report by the printer 1 12 and burns a CD by the CD burner 114.
The document information is printed as a paper medium report, and the image information is recorded on a CD. Bibliographic items such as the name of a patient, report creation date, and report issue date are printed on a cover for the CD. The report output device 110 is an example of issuing means in the present invention.
[0022]
In such a manner, the report issuing operation is performed by the patient himself/herself. Consequently, a medical personnel does not have to be involved in issuing of a report and there is no manpower accompanying the issue. When a patient does not come to pick up a report, the report is not issued, so that the report and manpower is not wasted. [0023]
Since information whether a report has been issued or not is included in the report, it is easy to manage whether the report has been issued or not and history of the report issue. The server 300 is an example of storing means in the invention.
