Abstract

An exhaust valve device that is small-sized, or compact, and has high response. The exhaust valve device (1) has an exhaust valve (2) formed by mounting a valve body (9), which opens and closes an exhaust path (8) in a valve body (6), on a pivotally supported valve shaft (7) penetrating through the valve body (6), and also has an actuator for opening and closing the exhaust valve (2). An electric actuator (3) is used as the actuator, and an opening degree detection sensor (opening degree detection means)(4) for detecting the degree of opening of the exhaust valve (2) is provided in the exhaust valve device (1). Further, the actuator (3) and the sensor (4) are coaxially arranged, a connection shaft (19) for interconnecting the actuator (3) and the sensor (4) is placed parallel to and offset from the valve shaft (7) of the exhaust valve (2), and the connection shaft (19) and the valve shaft (7) are interconnected by a link mechanism (31).
