Abstract

Assuming m is a natural number of 2 or above, and n is a natural number not larger than m, m parallel plates are laminated and cut and then the cut laminate bodies are piled and cut to form a plurality of optical elements. In the laminating process of parallel plates, a parallel plate having a thickness of a reference value or more and a parallel plate having a thickness below the reference value are selected from among a plurality of ranks and laminated such that the difference between the length of n parallel plates from a cutting reference position and the distance from the cutting reference position to the n-th cutting position, in a direction vertical to the cutting surface of the cut laminated body falls within a predetermined range for any value of n in a predetermined section. With such an arrangement, the part to be cut can be brought close to each cutting position in the process for cutting each cut laminate body, and positional shift of the bonding face can be suppressed for every optical element being obtained.
