Abstract
An alkaline battery includes an assembled sealing member for sealing a battery case, an insulating ring attached to a negative terminal block and an external label provided so as to contact with an outer surface of the battery case. The assembled sealing member includes a battery case for storing a power generation element, a resin sealing member having a thin part to be broken by gas pressure in the battery case and a negative terminal block. Further, in the alkaline battery, provided on an inner circumference surface of the insulating ring are a positioning part contacting with the negative terminal block and a void forming part forming a void part with the negative terminal block. Therefore, in a manufacturing process of an alkaline battery, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of attachment failure to the negative terminal block of the insulating ring and defective appearance of the battery resulting from the attachment failure and to suppress the spray-like ejection of alkaline electrolyte even in the case where gas pressure in the alkaline battery is increased.
