Abstract
An interpolation frame generation control device (130) of a display device (100) for detecting motions in a first and a second motion detection block which are composed of a plurality of local areas and whose block sizes are different from each other and obtaining the motions as first and second motion vectors. The motions in each local area are obtained as third motion vectors. First and second reliabilities of the first and the second motion vectors are judged. The first motion vectors are determined as the local area vectors of all local areas when the number of reliable first motion vectors is larger than that of the second motion vectors, and the second motion vectors are determined as the local area vectors of all local areas when the number of reliable second motion vectors is larger than that of the first motion vectors. An interpolation frame generation unit (140) is allowed to generate the interpolation frame according to the local area vectors.
