Abstract

Disclosed is a method for producing 3-aminothiophene represented by the formula (4) below, which comprises a step for producing a metal carboxylate salt represented by the general formula (2) below by hydrolyzing a 3-aminothiophene-2-carboxylate derivative represented by the general formula (1) below, a step for producing a salt represented by the general formula (3) below, which is composed of 3-aminothiophene and an acid, by performing a decarboxylation reaction of the metal carboxylate salt under acidic conditions, and a step for neutralizing the salt represented by the general formula (3) below. This method for producing 3-aminothiophene which is useful as an intermediate for agrochemicals, is characterized in that the decarboxylation reaction is performed without isolating a 3-aminothiophene-2-carboxylic acid represented by the formula (5) below. [chemical formula 1] (1) (2) (5) (3) (4) (In the formulae, R represents an alkyl group having 1-12 carbon atoms or a phenyl group; M represents an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal; and HX represents an acid.)
