Abstract

Provided is an automatic tool exchanging device which can retain the high durability and working reliability of a movement drive transmission mechanism for transmitting a movement drive force from a spindle to an output shaft thereby to move the output shaft back and forth in a predetermined movement pattern synchronized with the rotation of the output shaft, and which can realize a size reduction and can make a compact constitution. In the movement drive transmission mechanism (8), a rocking arm (61) has its base end portion fixed on an intermediate shaft (60) and its leading end portion associatively connected to the output shaft (5). A rotary cam member (62) is fixed on the spindle (3). A ball turret (63) is fixed on the intermediate shaft (60). A plurality of balls (65) are mounted at a proper interval in the circumferential direction on such an outer circumference portion of the ball turret (63) as confronts the cam portion of the rotary cam member (62) when the output shaft (5) makes a desired movement stroke. A plurality of ball engaging grooves (66) are formed in the outer circumference portion of the cam portion of the rotary cam member (62). One or more corresponding balls (65) can engage with those ball engaging grooves (66).
