Abstract

A backlight control section (21) is provided which turns on a cold-cathode fluorescent tube (a first light source)(9G) emitting the green-color light during the first half of a single frame period, while turns on a cold-cathode fluorescent tube (a second light source)(9RB) emitting the red- and blue-color light during the last half of a single frame period. On a panel control section (display control section)(20), a video signal conversion section (20b) is provided which converts the input video signal into each video signal for the first half and the last half of a single frame period in accordance with the input video signal and light colors emitted during the first half and the last half of a single frame period.
