Abstract

The subject matter described herein relates to a single end rivet (100) and a double end rivet (200). The single end rivet includes a head (105) and a tail (110). A pair of steps (115, 120) is formed between the head and the tail such that the cross section of each of the step is less than the cross section of the head and greater than the cross section of the tail. The double end rivet includes a head (205) and a pair of tails (210, 215). The head is formed between the tails such that the cross section of the head is greater than the cross section of each of the tail. The cross, section of the head, the tail and the steps of both the rivets are designed to achieve a uniform and a tight sealing contact with the parts accommodating both the rivets.
