Abstract

The invention relates to a switched-mode power supply comprising a switching element (TR1). A device (2) for operating the switched-mode power supply comprises a control unit (CTLR), the actuating signal of which is a pulse-width modulated control signal (SG) for the switching element (TR1). The device is designed to actively limit a maximum power input of the switched-mode power supply for each pulse period of the pulse-width modulated control signal (SG) in conjunction with a variable that is representative of a supply voltage (U_V) of the switched-mode power supply.
