Abstract

Disclosed is a gas barrier film having a layer having an inorganic compound deposited thereon and a gas barrier layer laminated on at least one surface of a substrate comprising a polyester film in this order, wherein the gas barrier layer is composed of the main component comprising a copolymer composed of the following three monomeric components (a) to (c) and a compound having an isocyanate group (a curing agent): (a) an unsaturated nitrile in an amount of 25 to 40 wt% relative to the total amount of the copolymer; (b) an unsaturated compound having a hydroxy group in an amount of 20 to 30 wt% relative to the total amount of the copolymer; and (c) at least one unsaturated compound selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid ester, styrene, unsaturated carboxylic acid, an unsaturated hydrocarbon and a vinyl ester. The gas barrier film has excellent blocking ability against oxygen and moisture vapor and excellent resistance against a thermal sterilization processing.
