Abstract
A foamed-resin composite structure in which material properties such as strength and waterproofness can be changed or a new property can be added while ensuring the property of being lightweight. When a vacuum pump (70) is operated, a vacuum box (91) is evacuated and a flowable epoxy resin applied to a base material (50) penetrates into pores connected to the upper side (54) and lower side (55) of the base material (50). When the base material (50) is allowed to stand for a given time, the epoxy resin which has penetrated in the pores of the base material (50) cures to improve material properties of the base material (50), such as mechanical strength.
