Abstract

Disclosed is a food/beverage or a pharmaceutical composition for oral administration for improving an acidic urine, which comprises fucoidan or a fucoidan-containing material as an active ingredient and can increase the pH vale of the urine in a sustained manner. Also disclosed is use of fucoidan or a fucoidan-containing material for the production of the food/beverage or pharmaceutical composition. Further disclosed is a method for improving an acidic urine by increasing the pH value of the urine in a sustained manner, which is characterized by orally administering fucoidan or a fucoidan-containing material.
