Abstract

A supporting mechanism for supporting a display unit with a display screen so that the elevation angle of the display screen can be freely adjusted comprises a bottom plate to be placed on a floor surface, a support plate the upper edge of which is supported on the display unit so as to be capable of rotating around the first rotation axis in the horizontal direction, and an auxiliary plate the front edge of which is supported on the rear edge of the bottom plate so as to be capable of rotating around the second rotation axis in the same direction as the first rotation axis and the rear edge of which is supported on the lower edge of the support plate so as to be capable of rotating around the third rotation axis in the same direction as the second rotating axis. The auxiliary plate is placed on the floor surface together with the bottom plate when the display unit is rotated to the maximum elevation angle, and raised from the floor surface at the rear edge side thereof when the display unit is rotated beyond the maximum elevation angle.
