Abstract
A method of forming a multi-component structure, the method including: co-extruding at least one polymer and a shear- thickening fluid to form a multi-component structure; wherein an interior region of the multi-component structure includes the shear-thickening fluid; and wherein an outer region of the multi-component structure includes the at least one polymer. Also disclosed is a multi-component structure including: at least one polymer; and a shear-thickening fluid; wherein an interior region of the multi-component structure comprises the shear-thickening fluid; and wherein an outer region of the multi-component structure comprises the at least one polymer.
