Abstract
A Bluetooth handsfree set includes a Bluetooth headset equipped with a Bluetooth core(MCU), and a Bluetooth handsfree including a headset connector connected to a connector of the Bluetooth headset and a power-supply input unit. The Bluetooth handsfree set includes: a connection connector contained in the Bluetooth headset so that it detects a connection between the connector and the headset connector. The Bluetooth core initializes a DSP and a displayer. The Bluetooth handsfree includes a DSP; a displayer for displaying caller information; a power- supply On/Off unit; and a connection detection circuit which switches on or off the power-supply On/Off unit when the connector is connected to or disconnected from the headset connector, so that the power-supply signal of the power-supply input unit is applied or not applied to the displayer and the DSP; or initializes the DSP and the displayer when the connector is connected to the headset connector.

Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a Bluetooth hands free, and more particularly to a
Bluetooth handsfree set, which powers on the Bluetooth handsfree only when a Bluetooth headset is mounted to the Bluetooth handsfree, prevents the occurrence of erroneous operations between the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree when the Bluetooth handsfree equipped with the Bluetooth headset is used, and enables the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree to be easily operated without any errors, so that it can be used for not only a vehicle but also a computer. Background Art
[2] Conventionally, a user of a mobile phone must hold the mobile phone in his or her hand to make a phone call with another party, resulting in greater inconvenience of use. In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, a variety of wired handsfree units have been developed, which connects an earphone or microphone to a jack of the mobile phone, so that the user can freely communicate with another party after inserting the mobile phone into any pockets of his or her clothes. The above-mentioned handsfree unit has been configured in the form of a wired connection, so that the user's movement is restricted. In order to solve this problem, a wireless handsfree unit based on a Bluetooth scheme has been developed.
[3] The above-mentioned wireless handsfree unit is very efficient for vehicle drivers, so that many developers are conducting intensive research into a variety of wireless handsfree units including various functions. A representative example of the above- mentioned wireless handsfree unit has been disclosed in Korean Utility Model Registration No. 293984, entitled "LUETOOTH HANDSFREE CAR KIT" which is hereby incorporated by reference.
[4] However, the Bluetooth handsfree car kit according to the above-mentioned Korean
Utility Model Registration No. 293984 has the following disadvantages.
[5] Firstly, the Bluetooth handsfree car kit board is always powered on even when a
Bluetooth headset is not mounted to the Bluetooth handsfree car kit board, so that unnecessary power consumption caused by standby power of a vehicle battery occurs.
[6] Secondly, the Bluetooth handsfree car kit board does not include a display on which caller information is displayed, resulting in greater inconvenience of a user.
[7] Thirdly, the Bluetooth handsfree car kit board uses a vehicle power-supply signal and a vehicle speaker, so that its usage is restricted only in the vehicle.
[8] Fifthly, when the Bluetooth headset is connected to the Bluetooth handsfree, the
Bluetooth handsfree car kit transmits a voice signal to a vehicle speaker via an earphone of the Bluetooth headset and/or a car kit connector of the Bluetooth handsfree, so that a voice communication between a caller and a called party is made. In this case, the voice signal is unnecessarily transmitted to the earphone of the Bluetooth headset even when the vehicle speaker outputs the voice signal, so that a battery lifetime is reduced. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[9] Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a Bluetooth handsfree set, which blocks a power-supply signal from being applied to a Bluetooth handsfree when the Bluetooth handsfree is not in use, so that it prevents a standby power from being unnecessarily consumed. It is another object of the present invention to provide a Bluetooth handsfree set which prevents the occurrence of erroneous operations between a Bluetooth headet and the Bluetooth handsfree when the Bluetooth handsfree is used, includes a displayer for displaying caller information in the Bluetooth handsfree, resulting in greater convenience of a user.
[10] It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a Bluetooth handsfree set which can be used not only when a user drives his or her vehicle but also when the user uses his or her computer at home or office, and increases a battery lifetime of the Bluetooth headset.
Technical Solution
[11] In accordance with the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of a Bluetooth handsfree set which includes: a Bluetooth headset equipped with a Bluetooth core (MCU) for control operations; and a Bluetooth handsfree including a headset connector connected to a connector of the Bluetooth headset and a power-supply input unit for receiving a power-supply signal, comprising: a connection connector contained in the Bluetooth headset so that it detects a connection between the connector and the headset connector, wherein the Bluetooth core (MCU) receives a detection signal from the connection detector, and initializes a digital signal processor (DSP) and a displayer using the received detection signal, and the Bluetooth handsfree includes: a digital signal processor (DSP) controlled by a call button so that it processes a voice signal of a user acting as a called party; a displayer for displaying caller information thereon in a communication mode of the Bluetooth headset; a power-supply On/Off unit for powering on or off the power-supply input unit; and a connection detection circuit which switches on or off the power-supply On/ Off unit when the connector is connected to or disconnected from the headset
connector, so that the power-supply signal of the power-supply input unit is applied or not applied to the displayer and the digital signal processor (DSP); or initializes the digital signal processor (DSP) and the displayer when the connector is connected to the headset connector.
[12] Preferably, the Bluetooth core (MCU) stops operations of an earphone and a microphone of the Bluetooth headset when the connector is connected to the headset connector, so that a voice communication is implemented via a microphone and speaker of the Bluetooth handsfree operated when the connector is connected to the headset connector.
[13] Preferably, the power-supply input unit of the Bluetooth handsfree is a vehicle power-supply input unit or a computer power-supply input unit.
Advantageous Effects
[14] As described above, the present invention blocks a power-supply signal from being applied to the Bluetooth handsfree when the Bluetooth handsfree is not in use, and prevents the occurrence of unnecessary power consumption caused by the standby power. When the Bluetooth headset is mounted to the Bluetooth handsfree, the present invention prevents erroneous operations between the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree, displays caller information on the displayer of the Bluetooth handsfree, resulting in greater convenience of the user. The Bluetooth handsfree according to the present invention can be mounted to the vehicle or the computer, and maximizes a battery lifetime of the Bluetooth headset. Brief Description of the Drawings

[21] Referring to FIG. 2, the Bluetooth headset according to the present invention includes an antenna 11 for receiving a signal; an earphone 12 and a microphone 13 for a voice communication; a control button 14 for a call connection or a speaker volume adjustment; a battery 15; a connector 16 connected to a headset connector 24 of a Bluetooth handsfree of the present invention; and a Bluetooth core (MCU) 17 for controlling the above-mentioned components.
[22] The Bluetooth handsfree according to the present invention includes a speaker 21 and a microphone 22 which establish a voice communication between a calling party and a called party using the antenna 11 of the Bluetooth headset; a control button 23 for a call connection or a speaker volume adjustment; a headset connector 24 connected to the connector 16 of the Bluetooth headset 16; a power-supply input unit 25 for receiving a power- supply voltage; and a charging circuit 26 for applying the power-supply voltage to the battery 15 of the Bluetooth headset, and charging the battery 15.
[23] Compared with the conventional art, inventive characteristics of the Bluetooth handsfree set including both the aforementioned Bluetooth headset and the aforementioned Bluetooth handsfree will hereinafter be described in detail.
[24] The above-mentioned Bluetooth headset further includes a connection detector 18 for detecting a connection between the connector 16 and the headset connector 24 when the Bluetooth headset is mounted to the Bluetooth handsfree.
[25] Upon receiving an output signal from the connection detector 18, the Bluetooth core
(MCU) 17 will perform the following characteristic operations.
[26] The Bluetooth core (MCU) 17 receives the output signal of the connection detector
18, initializes a digital signal processor (DSP) 27 and a displayer 28 of the Bluetooth handsfree, establishes synchronization between the digital signal processor (DSP) 27 and the displayer 28, and prevents erroneous operations between the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree from being generated, so that the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree can be readily operated without any errors.
[27] When the connector 16 is connected to the headset connector 24, the Bluetooth core
(MCU) 17 stops operations of the microphone 13 and the earphone 12 of the Bluetooth headset, and enables a voice signal of a calling party to be transmitted to only the microphone 22 and the speaker 21 of the Bluetooth handsfree, so that the calling party can easily use the microphone 22 and the speaker 21 of the good-performance Bluetooth handsfree, resulting in an increased battery lifetime.
[28] The Bluetooth handsfree according to the present invention further includes a
connection detection circuit 29, a power-supply On/Off unit 30, a digital signal processor (DSP) 27, and a displayer 28.
[29] The digital signal processor (DSP) 27 is controlled by a "CALL" button contained in the control button unit 23, and performs analog-to-digital (A/D) or digital-to-analog (D/A) conversion of a voice signal of a calling party. If the Bluetooth headset receives an incoming call from a caller, caller information including a caller's phone number is displayed on the displayer 28. In this way, the caller information is displayed on the displayer 28 of the Bluetooth handsfree. Particularly, if the Bluetooth handsfree according to the present invention is mounted to a vehicle, a called party who rides in the vehicle can easily recognize the caller by referring to the caller information displayed on the displayer 28. As a result, the Bluetooth handsfree according to the present invention restricts unnecessary operations of a vehicle driver while the vehicle is in motion, resulting in an increased driving security.
[30] The power-supply On/Off unit 30 is controlled by the connection detection circuit
29, and powers on or off the power- supply input unit 25. The power- supply input unit 25 includes a vehicle power-supply input unit 251 for receiving a power-supply signal from a vehicle battery and a computer power-supply input unit 252 for receiving a power- supply signal applied to a computer.
[31] The connection detection circuit 29 switches on or off the power-supply On/Off unit 30, so that it applies the power-supply signal of the power-supply input unit 25 to the digital signal processor (DSP) 27 and the displayer 28, or blocks the power-supply signal of the power-supply input unit 25 from being applied to the digital signal processor (DSP) 27 and the displayer 28.
[32] In other words, if the Bluetooth headset is mounted to the Bluetooth handsfree and the connector 16 of the Bluetooth headset 16 is connected to the headset connector 24 of the Bluetooth handsfree, the connection detection circuit 29 switches on the power- supply On/Off unit 30, so that the power-supply signal of the power-supply input unit 25 is applied to the displayer 28 and the digital signal processor (DSP) 27.
[33] The connection detection circuit 29 initializes the digital signal processor (DSP) and the displayer, and establishes synchronization between the digital signal processor (DSP) and the displayer, prevents erroneous operations between the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree from being generated, so that the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree can be readily operated without any errors.
[34] On the other hand, if the Bluetooth headset is released from the Bluetooth handsfree so that the connector 16 of the Bluetooth headset is separated from the headset connector 24 of the Bluetooth handsfree, the connection detection circuit 29 switches off the power-supply On/Off unit 30, so that it blocks the power-supply signal of the power-supply input unit 25 from being applied to the displayer 28 and the digital signal
processor (DSP) 27.
[35] In this way, the Bluetooth handsfree is powered off while a user does not use the
Bluetooth handsfree, so that it prevents the occurrence of unnecessary power consumption caused by a standby power.
[36] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made in the present invention without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention cover the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents. [37] As apparent from the above description, the present invention constructs the connection detector in the Bluetooth headset, and constructs the connection detection circuit in the Bluetooth handsfree, so that it increases a battery lifetime of the Bluetooth headset and prevents the occurrence of unnecessary power consumption caused by the standby power. The present invention establishes synchronization between the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree, so that the Bluetooth headset and the Bluetooth handsfree can be easily operated. The present invention displays caller information on the displayer, resulting in greater convenience of the user. The Bluetooth handsfree according to the present invention can be used while the user drives his or her vehicle, and can also be used while the user uses his or her computer.
[38] Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
Claims
[1] A Bluetooth handsfree set which includes: a Bluetooth headset equipped with a
Bluetooth core (MCU) for control operations; and a Bluetooth handsfree including a headset connector connected to a connector of the Bluetooth headset and a power-supply input unit for receiving a power-supply signal, comprising: a connection connector contained in the Bluetooth headset so that it detects a connection between the connector and the headset connector, wherein the Bluetooth core (MCU) receives a detection signal from the connection detector, and initializes a digital signal processor (DSP) and a displayer using the received detection signal, and the Bluetooth handsfree includes: a digital signal processor (DSP) controlled by a call button so that it processes a voice signal of a user acting as a called party; a displayer for displaying caller information thereon in a communication mode of the Bluetooth headset; a power-supply On/Off unit for powering on or off the power-supply input unit; and a connection detection circuit which switches on or off the power-supply On/Off unit when the connector is connected to or disconnected from the headset connector, so that the power-supply signal of the power-supply input unit is applied or not applied to the displayer and the digital signal processor (DSP); or initializes the digital signal processor (DSP) and the displayer when the connector is connected to the headset connector.
[2] The Bluetooth handsfree set according to claim 1, wherein the Bluetooth core
(MCU) stops operations of an earphone and a microphone of the Bluetooth headset when the connector is connected to the headset connector, so that a voice communication is implemented via a microphone and speaker of the Bluetooth handsfree operated when the connector is connected to the headset connector.
[3] The Bluetooth handsfree set according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the power-supply input unit of the Bluetooth handsfree is a vehicle power-supply input unit or a computer power- supply input unit.
