Abstract

プラズマ放電表示装置において、内部に蛍光体層と放電ガスとを封止したプラズマ放電表示パネルの一方の面に、１つの発光領域に３本以上の表示電極を配置し、他方の面に表示電極に直交する様に配置された複数のアドレス電極を配置した。 この構成により、プラズマ放電を利用した表示装置の大画面化にともない、１画素の領域が大きくなっても駆動電圧の高圧化や、表示装置の前面側に配置する表示電極対を駆動する駆動回路数を増加することなく、維持放電に必要な壁電荷の蓄積を行うことが可能になる。
