Abstract

It is an object to provide a display device, its driving method, and an image signal correction device that compensate a decline in brightness of a discharge light emitting element with a fluorescent component. A display device (10) is comprised of a display unit (300) and a driving device (42, 46, 700, 500, 400) that corrects an input image signal to generate a corrected image signal, divides one field of the corrected image signal into a plurality of subfields, and drives their plurally paired display electrodes and their plurally paired signal electrodes in accordance with pixel data of their divided subfields. The driving device (400) determines correction values of neighboring pixels in response to sub-frame patterns of pixel data for a pixel of its input image signal (430, 440), corrects the pixel data of the neighboring pixels in accordance with the determined correction values (410), and generates its corrected pixel data as its corrected image signal.
