Abstract

A gas sensor is provided with a detecting element, which detects a specified gas component contained in a gas to be measured, and outputs detection results by an electric signal from a contact section; a cylindrical holder wherein the detecting element is inserted; a terminal which is arranged on one end side of the holder and connected to the contact section; an insulator arranged on the one end side of the holder to support the terminal; a casing fixed to the holder to cover the insulator; a supporting section arranged at the one end of the holder; and a hollow elastic member, which exists in a compressed state between an inner surface of the casing and an outer surface of the insulator, presses the insulator to the supporting section by a restoring force and sandwiches the insulator with the supporting section.
