Abstract

情報記録再生装置は、記録面を有する記録媒体(120)と、記録面上において、複数の情報トラック(210)を並列に走査することで情報の記録及び再生のうち少なくとも一方の処理を行う複数のプローブ(135)と、記録面が複数の情報トラックに交わる方向に領域分割されてなると共に夫々が少なくとも1つの情報トラックを含むように領域分割されてなる複数の分割領域毎に、プローブを用いて少なくとも1つの情報トラックの位置を検出する位置検出手段と、設定された複数の分割領域毎に、少なくとも一方の処理を行う際におけるプローブのトラッキング制御を、検出されたトラックの位置に基づいて行うトラッキング制御手段とを備える。このため、装置構成の単純化が可能となる。
