Abstract

In an uplink band allocation method, to reliably allocate an uplink band to a mobile station, if a first control message (for example, a handover request) is received from the mobile station, then an uplink band for the mobile station to transmit the following control message is reserved and this band allocation information is repeatedly notified to the mobile station for a certain time or a certain number of times, thereby permitting the uplink band to be used. When the final control message (for example, handover completion information or a handover cancel request) is received from the mobile station, the uplink band is released. Alternatively, when the final control message is not received within a predetermined time, the uplink band is forcibly released.
