Abstract

 本発明は、酸素を還元するカソード(13)と気体燃料を酸化するアノード(12)との間に挟まれたイオン伝導性の電解質膜(11)を含む発電部と、第1の燃料及び第2の燃料を液体状態で両者が混ざらないように貯蔵(30)(31)し、それらの燃料を気化した後にアノードに供給する、燃料供給機構とを有する燃料電池に関する。 携帯型電子機器用の電源として、前記燃料電池等が注目を集めているが、従来は、前記燃料供給機構を、第1の燃料及び第2の燃料をそれぞれ専用のポンプ等の補機で気化部に供給するという機構にしていたため、前記電子機器への応用には不向きである等の問題があった。 本発明は、前記燃料供給機構を、燃料気化膜(25)で第1の燃料及び第2の燃料を気化した後に、拡散部(17)(20)で両者を混合してアノードに供給する、機構とすること等によって、前記問題の解決を図ったものである。
