Abstract

A health appliance (10) which is constructed by coating a rod-shaped core material (11) made of a hard material with an elastic resin foam (12) having a thickness of 10 to 20 mm and the total weight of which is controlled to 100 to 500 g. This health appliance (10) is usable in exercises similar to the existing dumbbells and, moreover, hand clasp exercises can be conducted by strongly clasping it against the elasticity of the resin foam (12) and then relaxing. Thus, it is expected that cerebral nerve functions can be sustained and improved by training and stimulating the hands and fingers. The above-described health appliance (10) is relatively lightweight and the resin foam (12) thickly coating the surface of the core material (11) absorbs the shock impact in dropping or collision, which makes it safely and easily usable even by aged or sick persons.
