Abstract

Provided is a highly accurate composite optical element wherein arrangement of a plurality of objective lenses, i.e., constitution elements, is suitably set to meet required accuracies of the objective lenses. In a composite optical element (10) for optical pickup devices, first and second objective lenses (12, 13) and an outer frame section (11) for supporting the first and the second objective lenses (12, 13) are integrally formed. Of the first and the second objective lenses (12, 13), the first objective lens (12), which forms the smallest spot diameter (or has the highest numerical aperture), is arranged at a position closer to the center of gravity (CG) of the entire composite optical element (10) than the other second objective lense (13).
