Abstract

This invention provides a bearing apparatus with a lubricant diagnosis sensor, which can reliably grasp beforehand an abnormal phenomenon of a lubricant, for example, in a roll bearing without limitation of its attachment position and can prevent the occurrence of trouble such as seizure. A bearing apparatus (20) comprises a lubricant diagnosis sensor (10). The lubricant diagnosis sensor (10) comprises a sensor part and a substrate with the sensor part provided thereon. The sensor part detects hydrocarbons produced upon the deterioration of the lubricant filled into the bearing. The lubricant diagnosis sensor (10) is in a thin film form and is attached to the bearing part. The bearing apparatus (20) further comprises a temperature sensor adjacent to the lubricant diagnosis sensor (10). The output from the lubricant diagnosis sensor (10) undergoes temperature correction by the output from the temperature sensor.
