Abstract
Disclosed is a method for observing the information on the structure of a molecule located on the surface of a cell of interest while the cell lives. The method is achieved by contacting an array substrate having, immobilized thereon, multiple molecules capable of binding to the cells with a solution containing the cells in a fluorescently-labeled and living state, removing redundant cells which are non-specifically adsorbed on the surface of the substrate, and observing the intensity of fluorescence emitted from the cells. Also disclosed is a method for precipitating and removing the redundant cells. Further disclosed are an array substrate and an apparatus for immersing the substrate both for use in the methods.
