Abstract

Disclosed is a low-cost multilayer electrode having high corrosion resistance, low resistivity and catalytic characteristics, which is used as an electrode member for dye-sensitized solar cells, fuel cells, electrolysis of electrolyte solutions and the like. Specifically disclosed is a multilayer electrode having a metal thin film formed on a substrate and composed of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of chromium and titanium, and a platinum thin film formed on the metal thin film. This multilayer electrode is characterized in that the metal thin film has a thickness of 300 nm to 1 μm and the platinum thin film has a thickness of 10 nm to 50 nm.
