Abstract

The invention relates to a method for analysing an image containing unit elements aligned along horizontal and vertical directions, that comprises the steps of: detecting (ai) outlines and obtaining an outline image; calculating (a3) a histogram along a vertical or horizontal direction, representing said outline image, and respectively called vertical outline histogram or horizontal outline histogram; wherein said method is characterised in that it comprises the following additional steps: calculating (a4) a background belonging image from said image containing the unit elements to be detected; calculating (a5) a histogram along a vertical or horizontal direction, representing said background belonging image, and respectively called vertical background histogram or horizontal background histogram; merging (a6) vertical or horizontal background histogram with said vertical outline histogram or said horizontal outline histogram.
