Abstract

The invention relates to a rear cycle wheel which includes a rim connected to a hub and which is rotatbly mounted to a shaft (A) by two outer rows (2, 3) of spokes that are located on either side of the mid-plane of the rim perpendicular to the axis of rotation. According to the invention, on one side of the mid-plane, the shaft (A) of the wheel includes a first area (A1) located externally to a first adjacent row (3) of spokes, in order to receive chain sprockets and, on the other side of the mid-plane, the shaft includes a second area (A2) which extends essentially symmetrically to the first area relative to the mid-plane and which is located externally to the second adjacent row (2) of spokes. The spokes (D) in the two outer rows (2, 3) are oriented essentially radially, without any spokes from the same row intersecting one another. In addition, a third row (7) of driving spokes (K) is provided between the two outer rows in order to transmit the motor torque, said driving spokes being inclined in relation to the radial direction and connecting the rim to the hub.
