Abstract

It is possible to provide a radio communication terminal, a handoff method in the radio communication terminal, and a radio system which can significantly suppress generation of an instantaneous disconnection in a handoff operation. The radio communication terminal (1) includes a communication unit (11) for performing a radio communication with a plurality of base stations; and a control unit (12) for selecting one of frequencies to be used for talking by a radio communication. Upon reception of a signal indicating a handoff candidate frequency search request during data transmission by the communication unit (11), the control unit (12) monitors generation of a soundless section in talking and upon generation of a soundless section, switches the frequency used for communication to the handoff candidate frequency so as to perform search.
