Abstract
When a fixed scroll (34) is positioned by moving it in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction while a scroll fluid machine is assembled, the moving direction of the fixed scroll (34) is determined according to the phase of an orbiting scroll (31) to enhance the positioning accuracy by surely preventing the fixed scroll (34) from rotating. When the outer peripheral surface of a movable-side wrap is brought into contact with the inner peripheral surface of a fixed-side wrap and the fixed scroll (34) is pushed back by the movable-side wrap when the orbiting scroll (31) is inverted after the fixed scroll (34) is moved, the portion where the outer peripheral surface of the fixed-side wrap is separated from the inner peripheral surface of the movable-side wrap (closest portion) when the fixed scroll (34) is moved is detected, as a wrap-to-wrap contact position, by a position detection mechanism (65). The position detection is performed at multiple positions to determine the center of the fixed scroll (34) for positioning.
