Abstract
Methods and apparatuses of cursor control in image guided surgery are disclosed here. One embodiment includes defining a virtual screen in a volume of a 3D tracking system, determining a position of a probe in the volume as tracked by the 3D tracking system, and displaying a cursor on a display screen based on the position on or relative to the virtual screen, according to a mapping between the virtual screen and the display screen. The defining the virtual screen includes defining the virtual screen to be substantially parallel to a pre-defined vector in the volume of the 3D tracking system.
