Abstract

Disclosed are random access methods based on priority in a mobile communication system. In a random access method, a base station dynamically allocates a dedicated region for a high class user terminal, and the high class user terminal performs a random access through the allocated dedicated region. The base station increases or decreases the access permission probability for permitting the user terminal that has a low class according to a load of the dedicated region to access the dedicated region. The base station allocates a dedicated window for a high class user terminal that performs retransmission because of collision in the dedicated region. High class user terminals can perform transmission within the dedicated window. During the period, the low class user terminal stops the backoff operation.
