Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und Vorrichtungen zum Austauschen von Daten zwischen einem kundenseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystem (KN, NT) und einem providerseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystem (PN, AN). Eine Nachricht (M) wird von dem providerseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystem (PN, AN) zu dem kundenseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystem (KN, NT) verschickt. Die Nachricht löst eine Antwort (A) aus, welche eine Information (I) über das kundenseitige Netzwerk- Zugangssystem (KN, NT) umfasst und welche von dem kundenseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystem (KN, NT) zu dem providerseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystem (PN, AN) verschickt wird. Die Nachricht (M) verwendet in einem Destination-MAC-Adressfeld (MD) eine Multicastadresse, die die Eigenschaft hat, dass an sie adressierte Nachrichten von dem kundenseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystem (KN, NT) nicht weitergeleitet werden, und die Information (I) bezieht sich auf eine Ethernet OAM Funktion (ETH OAM). Ist die Nachricht beispielsweise eine Anfrage, ob die Ethernet OAM Funktion durch das kundenseitige Netzwerkzugangssystem (KN, NT) unterstützt wird, so kann auf diese Weise das providerseitige Netzwerkzugangssystem (PN, AN) automatisch an die Konfiguration des kundenseitigen Netzwerkzugangssystems (KN, NT) angepasst werden.
