Abstract

The present invention relates to the production of biodiesel. In particular, the present invention provides systems and methods for fermenting biomass materials with transgenic plant materials expressing the WRIl transcription factor. In preferred embodiments, WRIl is expressed in canola. The transgenic canola plants are fermented with a biomass source so that oil is produced using carbohydrates from the biomass source as an energy source.
