Abstract

One embodiment of a method for manufacturing a smokeless tobacco product such as snus comprises agglomerating humidified, pasteurised particulate tobacco. The agglomeration provides a product with a reduced water activity compared to the un-agglomerated product. Average particle size can be about 0.5 mm.
