  • a user grips the tab 17 and pulls back the sticker 16 which tears open the closure 5 along the weakened portion 6 exposing the dispensing element 10 within the pack 1.
  • a user extends their fingers through the dispensing opening 12 to grip and pull an uppermost wet wipe through the dispensing opening 12 for dispensing from the pack 1.
  • a trailing edge of the wipe will pull the leading edge of the next wipe through the dispensing opening 12. This is retained within the well 18 formed by the dispensing element 10 beneath the outlet opening 3.
  • the sticker 16 After removal of the wet wipe the sticker 16, with the tear open closure 5 attached to an inside face thereof, is closed down over the top side wall 4 to seal the pack 1 to prevent moisture loss from the wipes of the pack 1.

  • the dispensing opening 12 is initially closed by a frangible closure 21.
  • a circular groove 22 is cut in an underside of the elastomeric base 11. In this way the wet wipes within the pack 1 are initially sealed within the pack 1 by the closure 21 which can be readily punched through, tearing along the groove 22 to allow access to the wipes within the pack 1.
  • Fig. 11 shows a similar arrangement to that in Fig. 10, however in this case the circular groove 22 is cut in a top face of the elastomeric base 11.

  • a dispensing element 30 is provided with additional segments 31 in the elastomeric base 11 to further control the elasticity of the base 11.

It will be noted that an outer surface of the lid 42 provides a graphic area for mounting a decorative label or other decoration.

  • the lid assembly 40 is mounted on the top side wall 4 of the body 2 of the pack 50 on an exterior of the pack 50.
  • a peel-away sticker 16 is mounted within the lid assembly 40 over the dispensing element at the outlet opening of the pack 50.
  • the sticker 16 can be used as a peel and re-seal sticker, or alternatively may be discarded, with the lid 42 being used on its own to re-seal the pack 50 after dispensing wipes from the pack 50.
  • FIG. 20 there is shown another wet wipes pack indicated generally by the reference numeral 60. Parts similar to those described previously are assigned the same reference numerals. This is largely similar to the arrangement shown in Fig. 18 and 19. However, in this case the sticker 16 has been dispensed with. Initial sealing of the pack 60 is achieved by the lid assembly 40 and by the tear-open closure 5 in the pack 60 side wall 4.
  • Fig. 21 shows a dispensing element 70 comprising a disc 71 of elastomeric material with a central circular dispensing opening 12.
  • Fig. 22 shows a dispensing element 72 similar to that shown in Fig. 21. In this case additional cut-out slots or segments 31 of different material are provided in the disc 71 to modify the elastomeric properties of the dispensing element 72.

  • Existing wipe pack manufacturing processes and machinery can be adapted at low cost and with minimal disruption to implement the invention.
  • the flexible elastomeric dispensing element may be of any suitable material such as TPE, multilayered polymer formed by extrusion, thermoforming, injection moulding, two-shot injection moulding or stamping, for example.
  • the dispensing element has a through opening (e.g. a slot cross-cut or hole) for passage of a wipe or pad for dispensing from the pack or a frangible opening which is initially closed and is punched through to open when first dispensing wipes or pads from the pack.
  • the pack 100 comprises a flexible body 101 with a bottom panel 102 and upstanding side walls 103 together forming a container for wet wipes.
  • a top panel 104 is heat welded or otherwise bonded to the side walls 103 at a peripheral flange 105 at a top of the side walls 103.
  • a dispensing element 106 is bonded to an underside of the top panel 104 for dispensing wet wipes from the pack 100.
  • the dispensing element 106 could alternatively be bonded to the outer face of the top panel 104.
  • the dispensing element 106 could be any one of the previously described dispensing elements of the invention.
  • a peel and re-seal sticker 16 is mounted on an exterior of the top panel 104 above the dispensing element 106 and can be peeled back to provide access to the dispensing element 106 for pulling wet wipes from the pack 100. After dispensing wipes from the pack the sticker 16 is again sealed with the outer face of the top panel 104 to prevent moisture loss from the pack 100. Whilst in this case the body 101 is of flexible material which collapses as wipes are dispensed from the pack 100, the body 101 could if desired be made of a stiff material which is self-supporting and holds it shape.
  • a pouch or bag according to another embodiment of the invention indicated generally by the reference numeral 110. Parts similar to those described previously are assigned the same reference numerals.
  • the bag 110 is formed of flexible plastics material and forms a sealed enclosure for wet wipes which are dispensed as previously described through a dispensing element 106, in this case mounted on a front side wall 112 of the bag 110.
  • a flange 114 at a top of the bag 110 has a central slot 115 which allows the bag 110 to be hung on a support arm for display on a retail outlet for example.
  • the flexible elastomeric dispensing elements described herein can be formed in a number of ways - for example by mixing or layering various plastics materials to achieve a suitable flexible component that is compatible for sealing using heat and also compatible for contact with the liquid formulations used to impregnate the wipes.
  • a removable cover may be provided in the outlet opening in the flexible side wall portion of the pack and/or the dispensing opening in the elastomeric dispensing element part to initially close the outlet opening and/or dispensing opening and retain moisture within the pack. Upon first use of the pack the or each cover can be broken away to allow access to the pack contents and dispensing of wipes from the pack.
  • the dispensing element, the outlet opening in the pack side wall and the dispensing opening in the dispensing element may be of any desired shape.

L'invention concerne un paquet de lingettes souples (1) dont la paroi latérale supérieure (4) présente une ouverture de sortie (3). L'ouverture de sortie (3) est initialement fermée par une fermeture à ouverture par déchirure (5) définie par une partie affaiblie circulaire (6) de la paroi latérale supérieure (4). Une partie articulée (7) reste lorsque la partie affaiblie (6) est rompue, de telle sorte que la fermeture (5) reste attachée à la paroi latérale supérieure (4) du paquet (1). A l'intérieur du paquet (1), un élément de distribution (10) est monté à travers l'ouverture de sortie (3), lequel est lié à une face intérieure (19) de la paroi latérale supérieure (4) du paquet (1). Une partie élastomère (11) de l'élément de distribution (10) est munie d'un trou traversant (12) à travers lequel des lingettes sont distribuées du paquet (1).
